Research Guides

What is Research Guides

Research Guides are maintained by Western Libraries and is integrated with OWL Sakai and OWL Brightspace. The Research Guides are also available directly on Western Libraries website and can be hyperlinked to directly. The service also allows instructors to request course-specific guides.

What is the purpose of Research Guides

Research Guides provides an easy way for students to access relevant, subject-specific databases provided by the library from within their course.

Research Guides also allows Instructors to request couese-specific research guides.

How to use Research Guides

Research Guides is available by default in all OWL Sakai course sites. Instructors can add the Research Guides tool to any OWL Brightspace course via the Content tool. When students access the tool, it will automatically connect them to the research guide relevant to the subject of the course.

Research Guides is supported by Western Libraries in both OWL Sakai and OWL Brightspace.
