OWL Tool - Schedule

What is the Schedule tool?

The Schedule tool in OWL contains calendars and is used to organize tasks, events, or actions. In the newest version of OWL this is referred to as the Calendar Tool.

What is the purpose of the Schedule tool?

A schedule is used to assist students and instructors in organizing and planning their time effectively. Instructors can post due dates or other significant events related to the course, and notify students about them with an email or an announcement.

A schedule can schedule or remind users of upcoming activities related to classes and coursework (eg. tests, assignments, readings, special lectures, appointments with professors or department counselors, and other important tasks).

How to use the Schedule tool

Within your OWL worksite, enable the Schedule tool with the 'Site Info' page, by clicking the 'Edit Tools' link. The Gradebook tool is added to the left side of your OWL worksite.

Use the 'Add' button to add events to the calendar. Other OWL tools, such as Assignments and Tests & Quizzes, will also add events to the worksite calendar and appear in the Schedule tool.
